About us. Subtitle: what is mutual aid?

Mutual aid is when people come together to meet each other’s basic survival needs with a shared understanding that the systems we live under do not meet our needs. It also means building new social connections with people who take responsibility for caring for one another.

As a mutual aid group, La Puente Mutual Aid (LPMA) is a committed to coordinating community resources to the city and unincorporated areas of La Puente.

Direct mutual aid requires material resources. Every dollar donated goes towards groceries, supplies, and direct cash support — we are a decentralized collective of volunteers, not a non-profit, so we have no overhead costs.
